Befriending & Family Support

Befriending is all about building a friendship with someone you can trust to spend time with or take you out somewhere fun. This will provide the support to being more independent and access activities you like. Befrienders meet each week as often as agreed and plan a range of activities to enjoy such as going to the cinema, cooking, swimming, going out for food, laying and watching sports, arts and crafts. shopping or playing video games and board games.

We are dedicated to making sure that each child and young person we link is paired with the best member of staff for them. We spend time learning about you, or your child, to understand what's important to you, what would work best for you and who to pair you with.

All members of staff are subject to our safer recruitment processes which require them to submit two references, complete an enhanced DBS check, as well as undertake an interview and induction and safeguarding training.

Please email gravityredinspires@outlook.com and one of our co-ordinators will get back to you to explain the process and answer any questions you may have.

Our Work

With years of experience, our team have been working hard and have inspired many young people across our region. At Gravity Red Inspires, we combine our insights and skills to provide the opportunity for young people to thrive.

Our Story

Our Story

Gravity Red Inspires is a well established local company that was founded in 2013. We noticed that there were limited opportunities for families caring for a child with learning disabilities to enjoy community based activities. The only short breaks parents and carers received were by sending their children to respite homes.

Gravity Red Inspires was established to develop and  provide support to families caring for a child with a learning disability to be able to achieve this.

Group Work

We deliver group work for young people with additional needs. This consists of a variety of positive activities within the community tailored to the interests of the young people attending. The goal is to raise the confidence and self-esteem of each member and provide a foundation for them to build positive friendships.
